2012 Tree Committee Meetings

For 2012, the Tree Committee will be meeting every other last Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the BVCA Clubhouse. The scheduled meeting dates for 2012 are: February 29, April 25, June 27, August 29, and October 31.

Naples Rib Company Fundraiser

The Naples Rib Company located in Naples on Second street has generously offered to contribute 20% of their proceeds for 'in restaurant diners AND take out patrons' to the Los Cerritos Wetlands Land Trust. Twenty percent of all proceeds generated on TUESDAY, February 28, 2012 will benefit the Land Trust. It will be a delicious evening at the restaurant for those that can attend OR elect to take home the food. They have vegetarian entrees too!

Concrete Repairs Schedule

Beginning Monday 2/13/12, through Friday 2/17/12, there will be sidewalk repairs and replacements taking place in the area of John K, Holbrook, Brocton, Wakefield, and Providence.

Please be careful, watch your step, and the project will over soon.

Association Officer Positions Updated

During the February 8 meeting of the Board, the officer positions were updated due to the recent appointment of Duane Dalman to fulfill the position vacated by John Sausen. The following are the new positions:

Duane Dalman Appointed to BVCA Board Effective February 1, 2012

Two applicants, Duane Dalman and Rick Panos, interviewed for the Board of Directors position opening due to John Sausen's resignation on February 1. Both men would be an asset to the Board as they have relevant work related and volunteer experience as well as a zeal to continue to improve the infrastructure and sense of community of Bixby Village. After careful consideration, Duane Dalman was selected because of the extent of his involvement in Common Area Committee lighting, paving, and security projects.

Colleen Pando

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Colleen Pando, a resident of Brocton Court. Colleen dedicated many hours to the community as chair of the Landscape Committee and member of the Tree Committee. Harvest expressed the feelings of all who worked with her in their condolences to the community: "The dedication and passion she invested into her community was beyond admirable. It is truly a great loss." She will be missed by her neighbors and fellow committee members. Our sympathy goes to her son and daughter and grandchildren.

Are you interested in making a difference to the Community? Please be advised that effective February 1, 2012 there will be a vacant seat on the Board due to the pending sale of Director John Sausen’s residence. If you are interested in joining the BVCA Board of Directors, please notify Jessica Holden, Community Manager, in writing before January 20, 2012. There will be a Special Meeting of the Board to appoint a new Board Member on Tuesday, January 24th at 6:30PM. For those interested, the Board will be interviewing candidates at 6:00PM.
